Who we are
Options is a small independently run day service for adults with learning difficulties, offering support across Portsmouth and Hampshire. Our goal is to enable people the opportunity to access both in-base and community activities. We work closely with families, carers and other professionals to provide co-ordinated and personalised services for individuals.
Activities
Options offer a wide range of activities which enable service users to develop their existing social skills, daily living skills, confidence, self-esteem and physical fitness. These can be arranged specifically to meet identified individual needs whilst promoting social inclusion within the wider community.
Activities include adapted cycling, walking, seaside trips, dancing, music therapy, spa pool, education courses, cinema, shopping trips, aquariums, drama and arts and many more.
By encouraging service users to experience a wide range of activities it not only develops their social skills but it also develops their confidence and self-esteem to eventually go on to other challenges.
Outreach
Options also offer an outreach service. After assessing individual needs we will then be able to identify what activities are available. These could include going to the cinema, theatre trips, museums, train rides, activity centres plus much more.
This would be a tailored support package where people are collected from their homes and do not require a building based service. Options therefore ensure that all individuals have the opportunity to access and take part in activities within the community.
